You will be good for any of the trackers on our list. Which is why it's so important for people to look for new trackers and post them in the appropriate thread. If you're still worried you can turn off image loading in FF or use a proxy for further protection.

@ mely:
It disguises you when you are viewing other profiles.

As Jewels stated, this only blocks you from being tracked while you view profiles. If you are interested in finding a tracker for you to be able to see who looks at your profile, please go to the forum as you will see threads that have recommendations for trackers. Personally, I prefer profiletracker.us (costs but worth it)

This is called the she-geeks tracker blocker; therefore it helps to block trackers from tracking you.

As tootie mentioned, take a read around the forum..you will learn alot. All the information has been provided, just take a look at it Smiley

I downloaded Tor, Privoxy, and Vidalia together.  Whenever I start Firefox, it displays a blank page and Tor is automatically turned off.  I then manually turn TOR on, then I have to manually type in my google homepage.  Not to mention the fact it doesn't load IGoogle or it's settings.  One more question is: Why, when I installed Adblock, will it not allow me to download a subscription to your tracker filters because of "firefox does not know how to open this address because the protocol (abp) isn't associated with any program.  I thought Adblock was the program I needed.  I am using Firefox, not explorer for all these things. HELP!

As to tor-get rid of it. The bog on firefox with it, is not worth it's use.  Remove it from your addons and uninstall it from your add/remove in control panel. Then get xb browser instead, which is a dedicated TOR browser and runs at lightning speed compared to TOR w/firefox. It is an edition of firefox, but is tweaked nicely for improved speed, yet still allows you to install addons and configure FF to your liking. In my opinion it has made regular tor obsolete.

As to the adblock issue - the message it's telling you is that adblock is not installed. Whenever you install an addon you must close and restart firefox for the addon to completely install. Did you take that step before you tried to click our subscribe link? If so then the install of adbock messed up somehow. Remove it from your addon list and reinstall it. Then restart Firefox and go click our subscribe link. All should be fine then. Let us know if you're still having difficulty.

You people are so BRILLIANT !!!!  I just downloaded Firefox and adblock and then clicked on the subscription link for the She Geeks tracker blocker.  I viewed my profile twice in FF and the views do not show up on MixMap.  I then went to IE and viewed my profile there.  MixMap picked it up on IE ---- but not on FF.  Thanks for all the info !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I click "subscribe" at the beginning of the threat I get this message: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (abp) isn't associated with any program."  Any suggestions?

hey, I've run into another issue.  I have adblock installed and the self-updating she-geeks tracker list to block, but when my computer does scans, it says that it has found 27 tracking cookies...a lot of these seem to be just advertising things, and not real ones, but statcounter always shows up even though it's on the blocked list.  Am I still getting tracked by statcounter?

The statcounter tracking cookie is probably there for saved login info. If you're using it as a tracker, I  wouldn't worry about it. If you don't use statcounter then just delete the cookie, it's not a big deal.

I don't use any trackers, I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't from someone else tracking me.  Thanks Jewels!

Have a question -- I've read thru the threads and I think now I've confused myself even more. The answer is probably right there and I'm missing it.

I have Firefox, adblock, the she-geeks tracker blocker, and two trackers (trackspace and PT).

When I check my own MS profile on PT, it shows both trackers.

Does this mean than anyone with PT can see my trackers, and does this mean that I don't have something installed correctly?
Shouldn't the tracker blocker prevent the trackers from showing up?

In all other respects, everything seems to be working just fine.

Should I be concerned that I can see my own trackers on PT?

Thanks for any guidance anyone can give!

hmmm, yes, something is wrong. did PT or trackspace change their tracking script. i know that a while back PT used to have you update their script alot. if they ever do this, you must manually change it in adblock. as for trackspace, it should be blocked. that makes no sense. anyone else having issues?

Thanks, justy!!

PT did change their tracking script (I had missed that) and so did trackspace. TS now shows as 2tspace.com, and I had missed changing to the newer script that goes with that. The 2tspace update is already in the she-geeks blocker, I just hadn't updated my stuff.

So now I've removed the older versions of both trackers and reinstalled with the new ones per the instructions for each, but both trackers are STILL showing when I check my MS profile at PT.

So now I need to change it in adblock for the new PT script, but I don't know what to do about the trackspace one. It should already be OK. Huh?
