In an effort to make your tracker blocking easier, we have created a self installing subscription to she-geeks tracker blocker list. You no longer need to worry about doing manual installs or adding subscriptions. Our new subscription installs automatically and checks for updates daily.

If you are logged into mobile, does the persons tracker work?

You have installed adblock first correct? This blocker list requires that addon. You must be using firefox and running the adblock extension. Once that is installed and running, the blocker will install automatically. IF you have no clue what I'm talking about, read the other threads in this forum  which contain instructions and links for installing adblock.

With this thread, we just made a self-installing block list that makes it easier for people to install the list into adblock rather than doing it manually.

I hit the subscription button that brought up a box...I hit OK but nothing happened. Is that all I had to do. I did install the adblock. How can i verify this is done?

when you click subscribe you will get this pop up box

make sure both checkboxes are marked (they should be automatically) and click ok. That's it.

To check and see if it's in there. Right click your adblock icon and choose preferences. Then scroll down the list until you see it like so:

Thanks Jewels!!
2 questions though...
- Now that this is installed will it automatically block me when I am browsing myspace? If so, does it so as any sort of hit on the persons page or not show at all? I assume I have to be in firefox for this to work correct?
-Also, on the preference list, I saw all the different tracker sites but there are 2 ip addresses included in that list. Is that normal?
Thanks girly!!

it will block the trackers on the page (and yes must be using ff) but it wont prevent the the myspace hit counter from triggering a page view (if that was what you were asking).

as to the ip addys- yes you can add a site to block by IP addy or url. it works either way - so no worries there.

Yesterday I installed the adblock in firefox on both my work and home computer. I have a few trackers on my page, one of which is trackspace. And since I have installed the tracker blocker, I can't even see where I logged onto my own page. Whether I was in f/f or i/e. Is this normal? I even put in a new tracker. Anyone have this prob before?

Yes girl - you must specifically allow your results pages to show. When you are on your tracker results page, right click your adblock icon, and select "disable on this page only". You will have to do that for all your tracker stats pages.

@ Jewels:

Will I have to do this everytime or does it apply everytime I log onto view my tracking? And what is the purpose of disabling this feature. Guess I'm a bit confused. Of course I put the adblock so people can't see me "snooping" Wink But every now and again, I want to check and make sure that it is working so thats why I view my own page. So, just to be clear...
The adblock will allow me to stay "hidden" while viewing profiles that use any of the sites listed on the adblock? And if I want to view on my tracker when I viewed, I need to disable?
And now to really pick your brain for the day Huh? Any recommendations for a situation where I have trackers and adblock on my profile and I know that someone is stalking me because there profile seems to "change" based on whats on mine...if you know what i mean. But her page is private (I made mine public to be able to see when she views). Are there any threads listed that will help me in determining if she has trackers on her profile or better yet, IF SHE HAS THE ADBLOCK???

once you disable adblock on your results page, it will remember, so no you won't have to do it again.

If you want to check your tracker by viewing your page, use another browser. If you are using IE, make sure you're not using IE Pro.

The coding available to disable adblock from being used on a page are not usable on myspace - so unfortunately there is no way of knowing if she's using it, or preventing her from using it.

And unless Moderator_ creates a code to see entire profiles, we can't tell if there is a tracker on a private page, UNLESS they are using a headline tracker. In which case viewing the source code of her page will reveal it.

Did this and nothing changed. Still can't see that I viewed my own page. And I even changed to the mixmap headline tracker.

I have ff and ie on my puter. I logged into my profile and then my tracker on both and cannot see where I just viewed my page. UHH! Now I dont know how to tell if its workking!  Angry
