I was surfing through some myspace 2.0 profiles & I came across this profile that had the "this profile is set to private" message from myspace 1.0. How did he do this? Was there some manipulation involved? Does anyone know how to do this...? It's not really that important but I kind of miss that message...it looks like there is something missing on the private profile page & that would be just perfect for non-friends.

Myspace 2.0 has its ups and downs I think its cute and fairly easy to use but people are able to see some of your profile. Tom wrote a blog about this when you go to customize right click the pencil on the right side of the section you want to remain private..Now thats kind of confusing...because when you go to your account settings theres no link to make your profile private anymore.

I do like how with 2.0 the page no style dosent work which is good for the dummy profiles..I also noticed when my friends come to my profile on their blackberrys theri able to see my comments that are hidden..

Ive only used the 2.0 on my dummy profile I dont like the idea that you can see any of my profile

people dont have a problem viewing the page anymore. I think that error was fixed awhile back. I am experimenting with the new profile on my fakespace & I think its kind of cute as long as the page width is at its smallest size...I cant stand that ridiculous bar at the top taking up the whole page. It really throws off the look.

I havent visited myspace through my cell for awhile but I'm not surprised that comments are visible. More than likely that is temporary...

So I have the myspace url of the person with profile 2.0 & the little private profile message. I have tried everything possible to figure out how he got it on there. I have viewed his page source, I have tried playing with codes & nothing works! I even tried changing my age to below 16 & that did not do anything. I tried to message him but OF COURSE you have to be his friend to send him a message. I dont want to post his url here for all the world to see so if anyone savvy wants to message me I will Pm them the link. Its driving me noodles...I hate when I cant solve mysteries...message me if ur interested. =)

Maybe try going to any page other than your home page and up at the top there is a little spot that has your status, and says update. Click it. You can change your "status" but if you click in the "mood" section, you can also type whatever you want, and then pick your own "smiley" to go with it. Hope that helps.

No no this is the message on the bottom of private pages that says "this profile is set to private this user must add you as a friend to see his/her profile." this message does not show up on 2.0 profiles even the private ones. But this myspace 2.0 user has that message on the bottom of his private 2.0 page. I have been trying to figure out how the heck he managed that. I have managed to put a private message photo from photobucket on the bottom of my profile so that when visitors come they see that but its a pain b/c I cant have that as a background & have another background also so it limits my freedom. But he has his message in pure writing. Thats what I want. Private 2.0 profiles look so geek without the private message.

It isn't possible so its a glitch or it's a combined glitch with "2.0 versus profile editor" or skins and themes.

well I managed to tweak a code a certain way to get my own custom private profile message (that I made) on the bottom of the profile page with even a background now so I am happy. The private 2.0 page finally looks decent! I think it looks kind of cute. It was missing something before. Here is the url of the experimental fakespace that i have been working on: http://www.myspace.com/xxxxxxx so that if anyone doesn't know what I am talking about they can see it for themselves.

I realize I am the only one who really cares about this & I am sure that noone except for me is jumping for joy over this but i will be willing to share the code with anyone who is interested after sending it to the mods first to approve it. (if the mods are interested..I realize its not soooo exciting lol).

admin note:  please message jezzy for the url they provided. the reason we dont post myspace URL pages, is bc someone goes and tattle tale's to myspace & your page gets deleted. people can be cruel like that  Angry
